Forests of Haze (By Olivia)

I could hear your echo calling,   Within the howling breeze, A sound that travelled by wing, And fluttered as time began to cease. The scent of the scattered lilies, Reminded me of your never-ending forests, The ones that hid and sheltered me, And offered a promised sanctuary of rest. The safety encompassed my soul, As I imagined the sunlit mornings, Drenched in a peace that fills the deepest of holes, As my roses carefully bloomed in yearning. Your mysterious mazes, I thought, They captivate me so, But will I be lead through the hazes, Or will my heart lose sight of the sun’s gentle glow? I miss your warmth, I truly do, The one felt from my mind’s wistful trees, The sun that glinted against the river of blue, And the way time had ceased, or so it seemed. Why do I miss it? Your wandering forests, When I only remained lost, In a dreamlike state of stardust? Why do I miss it? When all I’ve ever known, Was the way my heart would sit, Awaiting your snow? Because your snow never ...

World of My Own (by Olivia)

Stuck in a world completely of my own, None of which touches the eyes of this world, Longing to explain, though nothing quite leaves my lips, Wishing for an answer from the ghost of a question. The world I live, it is quite open and free, Filled with a beautiful tint of color and mystery, Love for the galaxies and admiration of the moon, Singing for the glory of the unknown in all forms. I dance, I laugh, I love, I feel, I allow myself to ponder our earthly home in sight, Unable to quite express how lovely it would be, To know deep within my heart of the riddle we call life. The secrets, the answers, the unnamed phenomena,   Of the place we are only to understand through a mind of limits, Breaking through the seams of the core of this planet, Though, indeed, there is so much more we must know of the deep. Tell me, will we ever truly know, Of the enigma we call living in this world? Of the beauty and grace of the universe out of reach, Of the curiosity and wonder of our colorful lan...

Today (Poem by Olivia)

Today is a bellow of wind, Tomorrow a forecasted gust of clouds, Yesterday merely a quiet whisper. The passing of time, so strange indeed, How life can flow and flow yet stop so suddenly, Not enough time, there is more that we need, Yet there is an overflow of hours, gushing in to remind us so hurriedly. What a mystery the passing of time can be, With there being no real start or ending of this unsolved inquiry, How the minutes keep ticking with no finish to be foreseen, And consumes our beings with insurmountable amounts of worry. However, it is always important to regain our awareness, That the only time truly in this world is that of the present, And though it may be difficult to remember in periods of unfairness, Relishing in this world’s peace and tranquility brings a joy so whole and pleasant. Time may be an eternal portal of wonder, With no true answer to how it is unlocked, Though we can always attempt for harmony to be our discovery, In a world full of pressure from the tickin...

Soul (By Olivia)

A sun filled dawn emerges within view, Replacing my beating heart's deeply wounded hole, The joy and heartwarming sight of amber mixed with blue, Carefully and beautifully writes the music of my soul. The autumn leaves drifting whimsically across the fields, Holding a youthful gleam as I take my mid-noon stroll, The remarkable secrets of the natural world revealed, Whispering their wishes directly to my soul. Bright orange and gold burn their mark upon the sky, As the wonderfully pleasant day brings the light that pieces me whole, Approaching the finish of the daylight with a sigh, As the last bit of radiance shines its rays upon my soul. The evening stars are at long last here, Their glint as old as the eternal passing of time, Gleefully painting the world above as I so serenely peer, Cleansing me with a spark of wonder as they sound their lively chimes. Every aspect of this world that ignites my dreams with wonder... That's what unlocks the radiance of my soul.

The Town Alone at Sea (By Olivia)

When I look up at the stars, twinkling forevermore, I remember the true feeling of home. Home was not quite what others would think of it to be. Though the island of Fornhea provided a sense of security and complete safety, my heart dared to believe that the true meaning of home, at least for myself, was the calling of freedom and adventure to a land far beyond the seemingly infinite waves of the sea. And when I gazed up at those twinkling beings of light, excitedly glimmering without fail each and every nightfall, home had felt within my reach. Peace washed over my entire being as I closed my stormy blue eyes, relishing in the complete and utter silence yet undeniable beauty of the night. Nighttime allowed me to ponder deep in thought. Though life on the island I inhabited wasn't exciting in the slightest, the night nonetheless enabled me to collect my thoughts and emotions, and dream of the life I longed to be a part of. The royal dusk above painted the clouds with faded hues, r...

The Land that Once Was (By Olivia)

I sit upon my windowsill, Wandering within my mind, Atop the highest and longest hill, Sits a world that most don't find. Millions of weightless clouds drift across the wind, Mysterious golden chimes sound from afar, And beyond the shimmering bundles of mist, Lies a world I long to depart. Faded out pillars and stone colored ruins, A chest containing lost treasures, A kingdom of tales long forgotten, Though the fascinating essence will surely last forever. If I could hear the legends behind these remains, When the dynasty once prospered during the king's peaceful reign, Or how the warriors at dawn plighted their way across the sand, How my soul would long to journey and experience this intriguing land. Scavenging the silent mounds that had once beamed with life, Brings unexplainable emotions to my heart; of lonely sweet sorrow, Though as the beautiful reminders of what once was arrive, My heart fills with light from the shining rays of tomorrow. I return upon my windowsill, No...

Hug

Crawling on the ground Where I don’t make a sound I have no emotions left to bleed Because the pain has made me numb I’ve cried so much, I’ve felt some dumb Now it’s happiness that I long to feed Nobody gets it I don’t want to throw a fit I don’t mean to bug I just really need a hug

Love (By Olivia)

An embrace as warm and tight as the sun, A melody that chimes as gracefully as the stars, The careful touch of the twilight-filled dawn, Holding the universe in its gently loving palm. The warmth of a fireplace in the harsh winter cold, As the scent fills the room with a familiar sense of home, The undying flames flourish as the passion unfolds, Overflowing with delight as it emits a wonderful tone. The soft melody of a bluebird's first song, Calmly yet surely trilling across the wind, The soothing noise of beauty carries me where I belong, As I gaze upon the natural world with a quiet moonlit grin. And all the glories and wonders in life, From the towering castles to the undisturbed trees, Joining with the ripples of the ongoing seas.. That is what I call love.

Voices in my Head

Good for nothing Never something These are the voices in my head Zero value No one loves you These are the voices I hear in bed You have no chance Just drop your fighting stance These are the voices convincing me to quit Piece of trash Everything you do is rash These are the voices that deal hard hits Every time I fall You rush over, energy and all Just to pick me up again Every time I stumble You make a sweet mumble Giving me power to once again defend The voices go over to you Trying to do the same thing, too I know for me you would never yield So I do the same thing and kick up my shield Charge at them head on Making them less strong They lose their power, falter away Do not worry, I’m here to stay

Face the World

I can feel the power leave my body I slowly become weaker I drift off, ready to fall And be rid of this horrible place This place offers no warmth No light No happiness As I slowly crumble away But then I see you You're here, again You give me strength Catching me from that fall And offer warmth Light Happiness And now I stand Now I finally have something to fight for So come at me, world For I'm ready to face you

Lucy

My mind could not understand I was lost, confused, out of it And it was too foggy to see clearly But then you popped up and cleared the fog You made sure I was okay That I wasn't losing it And helped guide me out of the mess that is my mind Repaired my heart And restored my hope My faith My humanity So I thank you for all you have done In the form of this short poem Thank you, Lucy ----------- Dedicated to my friend Lucy, who has always been there for me. I hope you enjoy, Lucy.

You [PoetOfSteel]

Note: I was dared by some friends to freestyle a poem in 1 minute...I got this: Only you Make me this happy Like the sun Nurturing its plants And how the moon glows softly in the night Those feelings THE feeling Is the only thing keeping me up I love you With all my heart They said it was good, and THEN one of them even said that it was a mood, which is very unlike her to be emotionally touched, so I uploaded it. ENJOY!

Sitting In A Shadow [PoetOfSteel]

Sitting in a corner, darkness surrounds me Trying to be someone else when I can't find me I'm drowning, losing air, I can't swim I need help but I'm not going to ask for it So busy pleasing others Because if not I'll lose another And I can't take it I won't last one more hit How do I end the misery? How to stop the suffering?I wish it would all end I wish I could just just be happy again (Note: Thanks for the title, Gabby! :D)

Fade Away [PoetOfSteel]

I can feel myself slipping From reality Images stuck in my head From what I thought was meant to be But despite fantasies Happiness is not what I will receive I feel myself slipping every day I can feel myself fading away

Feeling

I felt nothing for the longest time A flicker, a spark catches my eye I turn to see what is before me And I am surprised by it's glory If feel the heat around it And it's warm to the touch I fear it's presence Yet astonished by such I don't want it to hurt me So I try to understand it Despite not comprehending I might be a good fit I know it's not the smartest move But logic isn't present here It's over run by everything else From happiness to fear I realized what it is And my mind stops reeling It's just emotions Just feeling ------------------- In contrast to No Feeling , emotions have been regained and the spectrum is restored! I might not upload for a bit to update the blog completely, so I'll post an update when that is done! Hope you enjoyed this one!

No Feeling

Heart is empty No feeling at all And yet I feel worse For feeling empty overall Haven't felt anything in days Yet longing for emotion It was all gone But how; there was no commotion Lost, confused No map at all Still searching So I stall I don't feel anything No matter what I do Empty I feel And nothing will change that Nothing. -------------------- A SLIGHTLY different piece from my usual stuff, but every once in a while it's good to vent! Enjoy people! :D Update: Feeling is now out!

Sometimes (poem by the PoetofSteel)

Sometimes I wonder what we’ve gone too Whether we should get back up, or stay down Whether we should stay here or leave soon Whether we should give up or rebound Sometimes I wonder what life would be like If we would watch the sunset, all in a way That would make the night better, into sunrise And end in a beautiful day Sometimes I wonder why we think we’re in control Cause reality is that we are not And we still stall to see if we have a hold Of what we think we see in the dark

Raven - A Poem by Mark Borne

Author's Note:  Honestly, I think this is one of my best poems ever. See if you guys can figure this one out: it's got a lot of trick words/phrases! Fly, fly, my little Raven, Reach, reach for the sky. See the world from the air, My little Raven, and show it to me. It's a big world, little Raven, But I promise I'll find always find you. Fly, fly, my little Raven, Reach, reach for the stars. Let their beauty surround you, My little Raven, and tell it to me. The sky has no limit, little Raven, And I promise you'll be free. Fly, fly, my little Raven, Come back, come back to me. Be watching over my shoulder, My little Raven, and please guide me. The world is cruel, little Raven, Yet I'll always protect you. Fly, fly, my clever Raven, It's time, it's time for us to part. Find the next little Raven, My clever Raven, and help them grow. I can no longer be here, clever Raven, But you know where to find me.

The Stage

The Stage By Mark Tarver The lights close in, I’m shaking a lot But I can’t stop the thought If I mess up, I can’t go back But if I do go back, I’ll be done, that’s a fact! So, I took a step, going on the stage I realized, why be afraid? I watched the crowd all waiting I let my light glow, and didn’t let it continue fading I decided not to be afraid Today was going to be my day! So I stepped into the light And to my surprise, my talents were a delight!

Chains and Cages By Mark Borne

Chains and Cages By Mark Borne Chains and Cages weigh us down, Yet deep inside, we hold the key. Look around, and you will see, The endless state of mystery.   We writhe and scream, And want to be free. But look around, at what you see, For all around, is mystery. When you see, and see you will, The key is there to be free. And fly we will, and meet the sky, And know no more, the mystery. - Note that that the paragraphs were made like this using the punctuation, I didn’t know how to format it. If Mr. Borne needs it fixed, lemma know in the comments! - To submit a poem: https://forms.gle/QPwfWpjqribkt1JZ8 Born Nexus: https://markswiftnexus.blogspot.com/
