Drifting Through A Memory

I daydream About how we uesd to walk On the side of the coast  And just talk  Our bond was An unbreakable force What was then powered Now just feels sore But I'm glad You responded to my text I promise One more chance You look at me And I glance The spark Reunited once more On that day By the shore ---------- This was actually inspired by a song I like, Starlight by Jai Wolf , which is calming, in a sense, especially during these...I want to say "times" but that's overused. I guess this period? Anywho, hope you enjoyed!

Fly [AllPoetry!]

Hey everyone, I just posted something on AllPoetry! I've gotten into the site recently, and now I'll be posting there every now and then! I'll still post here, though, as my blog is my home. 😊 You can read it here ! And, yes, the previous event is still going on , and I'd love more people to join! There is only one submission so far, but I know there could be more!

Switch Off Story! [EVENT]

This event is a little different than my others. I will start a story, and others finish the other half! NO ENDING IS CANON! How it works: The first half will be down below! Anyone with a blog can join!, just link your part in the comments! If you do not have access to a blog, just submit it through the contact form! (The 3 lines in the upper left corner, to the bottom) Most importantly, HAVE FUN! First half:      I drove through the forest on my moterbike, my heart pounding faster than I could think. What do they want with me? I thought. 2 Hummers moved in closer, and attempted to catch me off guard. I made a sharp turn from a redwood, and one of the Hummers crashed into the tree. The one left, however, decided that that wasn't nice. Making a swift turn, it was right on my tail, creeping up steadily.       If I don't do something fast, I'm toast! Like, buttered with eggs! As I attempted to plot an escape, there was a large ravine  up ahead, with swirling waters and ja

The Power of Poetry

Poetry Words to describe a feeling A vision A sense of a new place Or maybe a familiar one With this power, I- No, WE can Channel it into an emotion A story Or even humor Songs are poetry Stories can be poetry Poetry powers our world Why not try it? ********** I'm actually loving the whole "out of your comfort zone" thing. I normally write rhyming poetry, but I'm feeling more comfortable with non-rhyming poetry after looking at some of my friends, such as Marysa and Lucy ! Anywho, thanks for reading!

The Cake [Lucy's Works Exclusive]

A new short story has been posted! It's not on my blog, though, but on a much better one! Go check it out!  There is work from me and other great people as well!

Election Tension

Well, here we are again, after 4 years The country is broken and in tears A major decision that has to be made While everyone is voting, scared and afraid Everyone is piling in for a vote As America squeezes out it's last hope The final push, no more debates No more screeching, no more hate The last night, with results tomorrow Making everyone anxious with extreme sorrow But the fight will be over before long So get out there and get your vote on!

Upcoming Roleplay?

I'm thinking about organizing a roleplay, but I don't think blog format would be nice. I know that I could use Discord, Google Hangouts, etc. But I want to avoid trolls. Any suggestions?

The Pumpkin (Halloween Poem)

I walk down the street at night To go trick or treat Some costumes not as good But others pretty neat I take the candy and I go Every single time But one house makes me stop As I see a dangling vine Spiders lay on the lawn And torches delight With cobwebs so realistic It gave me such a fright Spooky scary skeletons Won't scare me one bit Because the scariest thing to jump at me Was the pumpkin!

Songs that will keep you happy

Yes, we need this list . No specific order to my liking, just random! 5. Don't Stop Me Now (Queen) For obvious reasons, this song makes you want to go without stopping whatever you're doing! (See what I did there?) Link: https://youtu.be/HgzGwKwLmgM  4. Keep Your Head Up (Andy Grammar) Obviously, this song is made to help you whenever you're down. The lyrics really speak to me (especially now), and it had to go on this list. Link: https://youtu.be/3LMVJ2xd1g8 3. Happy (Pharrell Williams) No explanation needed. Link: https://youtu.be/ZbZSe6N_BXs 2. I'm Still Standing (Elton John) No matter what knocks you down, you can always get back up, right? Link: https://youtu.be/ZHwVBirqD2s 1. Mr. Blue Sky (Electric Light Orchestra) This song makes me instantly happy. I don't know about you, but if you've never heard it...well, now you can and NOT miss out! Sometimes (poem by the PoetofSteel)

Sometimes I wonder what we’ve gone too Whether we should get back up, or stay down Whether we should stay here or leave soon Whether we should give up or rebound Sometimes I wonder what life would be like If we would watch the sunset, all in a way That would make the night better, into sunrise And end in a beautiful day Sometimes I wonder why we think we’re in control Cause reality is that we are not And we still stall to see if we have a hold Of what we think we see in the dark

We back!

I decided to take a break due to low viewer ship...and then the world started to fall apart. But I'm back now! I don't know what to do yet, so I'll take some suggestions! Great to be here!

Final Voting Complete!

Final Voting Complete! Gabby wins! Here is the winning poem! Gabby L. -  Cloudy Skies Paint me a rainbow, use every single color  Use the memories we’ve strung to hang it up Let your tears fall from your eyelash clouds  And let me paint a smile with all the colors  Of the rainbow on your chapped, thin lips I’ll build you a castle from the drought And we can dance in our puddles of sorrow  And bleed out every hue that ever existed  Light up the hallways with the lightning bolts  And let the thunder be the music in our home Winds like the sweet breath from your lungs  Sweeping away every word you meant to say  Paint me a rainbow, darling, and scare away  The storms that make this fragile house shake  Tell me there’s a rainbow that you’ve hung up for me I built you this place, why would you want to leave?  I blew away the clouds and held the lightning I brought back the sun for you; bring it back for me I gave you my rainbow,  I gave you my only li

Heat of the Moment

Heat of the Moment By the PoetOfSteel A rush comes over me And I start to sweat And the fact that she right there Makes me bet That I'll mess up As usual, because the loser in me Is something I can't get rid of But something that we all see So when she approaches, I burn to a crisp My throat gets dry And I lose the list Of things I want to tell her Of what I think Or how the things I want to do for her Would put me on the brink Of failure or overall embarrassment Or of sometimes I feel not present But the good news I can remember Is that it was just the Heat of the Moment I actually made this thinking about my failure to communicate with anyone of the opposite gender, but yet still become friends. I don't know how I've never been rejected yet!

Preview: The Dragonkeeper (A D&D Inspired Tale by the Ant)

The half-elf scanned the bar as he entered. The few who noticed him enter simply glanced in the direction of the travel-worn bard before returning to their stench-filled drinks or gory stories. Mark didn’t mind. He was used to such a petty welcome. It was what followed all entertainers. It was a small comfort to know that people at least appreciated them when they played.           Mark moved towards the bartender. “A couple of hours of entertainment for a bed and a warm meal,” he offered. He gave the bartender a steady gaze, and the man faltered under it.           “My deepest apologies, but we already offered the night to another of your kind,” the bartender apologized.           Mark’s eyes narrowed. Who? This is my town! “To whom?” he wondered calmly.           “A girl with hair of fire,” the bartender replied. “Ash Pennyson. She stepped out for a moment, but she will be returning any moment.”           As if on cue, the bar’s doors opened, and Mark turned to see a shor

Raven - A Poem by Mark Borne

Author's Note:  Honestly, I think this is one of my best poems ever. See if you guys can figure this one out: it's got a lot of trick words/phrases! Fly, fly, my little Raven, Reach, reach for the sky. See the world from the air, My little Raven, and show it to me. It's a big world, little Raven, But I promise I'll find always find you. Fly, fly, my little Raven, Reach, reach for the stars. Let their beauty surround you, My little Raven, and tell it to me. The sky has no limit, little Raven, And I promise you'll be free. Fly, fly, my little Raven, Come back, come back to me. Be watching over my shoulder, My little Raven, and please guide me. The world is cruel, little Raven, Yet I'll always protect you. Fly, fly, my clever Raven, It's time, it's time for us to part. Find the next little Raven, My clever Raven, and help them grow. I can no longer be here, clever Raven, But you know where to find me.

Round 1 Voting!

Voting Time! Round 1! I took WAY too long. Now is the time to vote! Round 1: Golden Ray VS. Shaly P! It'll be a bit different this time. Instead of what I normally do, the poems will be here, not on the voting form. When done, vote here ! Golden Ray: I can never forget you,  Never forgive you.  I can never neglect you,  Never protect you.  I can never talk to you, Never ignore you.  So what can I do, Besides nothing? Shaly P: "Fallen Stars" I want to say those stars above have always shone, Have always lit my home in silvery light, Have always cradled with the moon in the timeline before me, This is to say those before me were in agile perfection, But sometimes those stars didn't dance in pastel colors, Sometimes they fell to the earth and broke like dreams, Sometimes their silver fragments wounded others, Sometimes we bled tears of pain, Sometimes the stars weren't there when water edged the eyes At the mid of night, The

When the show must go on but you remember other plans.

Oof. Probably should've thought this through. I'll keep the poll open for a little longer, but then in the next day or 2, I'll close it. So, yeah, that's it. Bye.

Jason Citysaver, a Short Story by Mark Borne

Mark's Note: This post is exclusive to this blog! You will not find it on the Nexus of Writers, which is where I write a majority of my work. I hope you enjoy, and keep an eye out on this blog! Not only will there be more Mark Borne works exclusive to this blog, but the Poet of Steel posts some pretty awesome stuff you'll want to see! There comes a time in every knight’s life when there is nothing left to fight, or the knight is unable to fight any longer. It is the most dreaded feeling any could ever experience, and none managed to make it through without their own fair share of tears. Knights, after all, were trained to fight. Once that training becomes useless, their life begins to yield no merit.                 And as Jason sat among his fellow knights, this feeling sank over him, enveloping him in a darkness that could not be described. He barely listened to the chatter of his friends, and barely even noticed his own automatic smile. This is it , he thought, the real

Why so inactive?

Yeah, sorta inactive. You see, school is a thing that prevents life, and I currently have a killer cold. No fun. So, I will be back, just whenever I'm available to blog and not be like a zombie. So those who still want the poll get an advantage!

Hot Dogs (A Poem by Mark Borne)

We're like hot dogs, Delicious food topped With all sorts of dreams. Then, slowly, Time eats Us away, and the pain Grows until we are gone. So why even bother? Because a life lived For nothing is a life Wasted, when we could Have made a difference. Author's Note : This poem will be available on the Nexus of Writers on the 21st, however this blog gets it a day early!

Poll Ending Soon!
